We are a nationwide network of experienced campaign staffers here to support progressive school board candidates.
The Problem (as we see it)
Across the country, school boards are becoming increasingly radical and pushing our schools away from the values that matter to most students, teachers, staff, and parents.
Far right wing extremist groups are tapping into grassroots energy to recruit, and support school board candidates around the country with access to huge amounts of dark money to fund their efforts.
Lack of Resources: Toolkits, resources, and individualized support for progressive school board candidates are not centralized or easy to access.
Here’s how we fix it
Mobilizing a network of experienced electoral professionals on a volunteer basis to provide individualized support to school board candidates that reflect our core progressive values.
Making it easier for candidates to run and win school boards seats, ensuring our schools are equitable and inclusive.
Harnessing the grassroots energy and providing candidate support to prioritize the needs of all students and communities.
How do we help candidates?
Help candidates get access to the coaching, resources, and electoral insights they need to WIN!

Our coaches commit to one-on-one coaching sessions with school board candidates/campaigns during the months leading up to election day. Coaching can include campaign planning, field strategy, digital strategy, GOTV preparation, as well as more hands-on technical campaign support.

Campaign Toolkit with curated resources from progressive training organizations and digital organizing guidance.

Online community with members of the cohort and other school board candidates for best practice sharing and support. Candidates will also receive connections to pre-existing volunteer networks.

Who We Are
Our core team has expertise in education, campaign management, strategy development, field, fundraising, digital, operations, advising, and more on campaigns ranging from municipal to presidential elections.
The School Board Project identifies experienced campaign staffers who share our values to be our Coaches. Coaches receive training and regular support from the core team to ensure our candidates are getting the best guidance.
