School Board Project Core Values

  • Build school and district policies that welcome and actively engage students, families, staff, and teachers of all races, genders, sexual orientations, faith backgrounds, abilities, languages, immigration statuses, and nations of origin 

  • Support students’ right to express their gender and sexuality safely in the school environment

  • Commit to maintaining free access to books and educational materials aligned with student curiosity and developmental stage, including those that allow students to explore topics outside of prescribed curriculum

  • Keep public dollars committed to public schools

  • Support teachers’ right and imperative to teach evidence based science, comprehensive history and social studies, and integrate Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) as is grade appropriate 

  • Prioritize open communication and accountability with students, teachers, and parents if elected 

  • Keep student outcomes at the center of district planning and assessment

  • Maintain boundaries between organized religion and public schools while supporting students of all or no faith backgrounds 

  • Support and fund access to healthcare in schools, including mental health and reproductive care

  • Not take campaign contributions or support from extremist rightwing organizations
